WordPress Improvements & Technical Maintenance

An ongoing technical engagement with Mundo Negro, Brazil’s leading news portal dedicated to Black culture, careers, entertainment, and representation — a high-traffic publication covering everything from politics and education to cinema, music, and fashion. Working on an already established platform, built on WordPress with the Newspaper theme, our role has been to evolve and strengthen it.

On the front-end side, we rebuilt core structural elements of the portal through Elementor, over the site’s existing Newspaper theme: a new header (utility bar, centered logo, main navigation, and search), a new footer, and the institutional pages — Contact (with a fully styled form), About, and Privacy Policy — all implemented from the approved design with full responsive adaptation for mobile and tablet, tested on real devices and across Elementor breakpoints.

On the infrastructure and analytics side, we prepared the platform for its advertising partnership with UOL: full backup and creation of a staging environment (previously nonexistent), auditing of GA4, Google Search Console, Tag Manager, plugins, cache, theme, and AMP/Web Stories pages, implementation of the UOL audience tags on both standard and AMP pages, and configuration of a cookie consent banner (Accept, Reject, Customize) integrated with GA4, UOL, Comscore, and DMP scripts — all deployed through staging first, then validated in production alongside the UOL team.

We provide monthly maintenance for the portal.

Deliverables: header and footer rebuild, institutional pages (Contact, About, Privacy Policy), responsive adaptation, Elementor implementation over the existing Newspaper theme, backup and staging environment setup, GA4/GTM/AMP audit, UOL tag implementation, cookie consent configuration, and monthly maintenance.
